Jimmy Choo For Men

Christian Louboutin kicked it all off a couple of seasons ago with a small collection for men, mainly consisting of high top sneakers. Now Jimmy Choo have entered the market for an Autumn/Winter 2011 collection. Tamara Mellon mentioned that it has always been her desire to end up with a menswear collection, especially after the success of the H&M/Jimmy Choo collaboration which included a successful line of footwear.
The collection will consist of high top sneakers, chunky biker boots and more formal styles such as lace up oxfords and loafers. The collection is inspired by the 60s British mod style fused with italian craftsmanship and includes all the luxury fabrics you’d expect to see in the women’s line; glossy patent, suede, printed calf hair and crocodile.
From the pictures I’ve seen the shoes are alright, I’m not blown away but it’s definitely good thing that they’re making men’s shoes. If future collections are anything like some of the women’s shoes then they’ll definitely be appreciated. I do think it’s quite funny though I’ve read in articles in the past that Louboutin had no desire to make mens shoes so I was quite surprised when it came out with a small collection. I’m also pretty sure I’ve read before similar states from someone at Jimmy Choo.

I really kind of dig the printed calfhair shoes. Those are kind of cool. Usually men’s shoes are so boring! Occassionally there will be an interesting one and I wish my man was brave enough to sport them.

yeah I think it will be good to see the entire collection and see what funky pieces they come out with. But I don’t think men’s shoes will ever be as creative or fun as women’s.
I can’t help but be excited about this collection than any of his designs for women. I am not a Sex in the City fan mostly because of shoes.
thanks for commenting joy
Those leopard print loafers look soooooo nice. I’m really curious to see the entire collection, they have been teasing us for a while and I want to see the entire thing. I finished reading The Towering World of Jimmy Choo some weeks ago, very interesting and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Have a lovely weekend Arash xxxxx
Thanks Jessie, the leopard print ones do look cool!
