I want something a bit different… is a phrase I often hear when working with clients and one that is the trickiest to address. The ambiguity of the words can often send me searching down rabbit holes and wish I had Mel Gibson’s powers from the movie ‘what women want’. But you’d be surprised at how often this scenario plays out. Not everyone finds it easy to express what they want. Often they don’t really know what they want and expect you to tell them… after all that’s why they hired you. So I decided to spend some time and really give it some thought and also ask you, my readers, what it means to you.
For those that are regular readers of my blog you maybe aware that I’m half Iranian. Often people hear my surname and think I’m Italian, however that’s not the case. My father’s from Tehran and my mother, Yorkshire. So I was really excited and pleased to find a blog dedicated to Iranian street style. Yes! it does exist and I was just as surprised as most are when I tell them about it. I’m not going to go straight into the pictures, I will post a few. But I’ll link you to the entire blog that contains the collection.
I guess my reaction to finding it illustrates how we often just take what’s portrayed in the media as gospel, without giving it much consideration.
