I’ve known about Milly’s blog Pearls & Poodles for a couple of years now. I think it was one of those blogs that I stumbled upon one day by clicking through various blog links. Her wonderful blog is a mixture of fashion, beauty and lifestyle so she has all bases covered. When I was deciding who could possibly feature on the series Milly’s name came up and I was thrilled when she agreed to take part. I love her feminine, soft style and she never appears to be shy to experiment with colour, but in a way that’s congruent with her. You’ll see what I mean if you check out her blog after looking at the outfit she’s chosen for the interview. I’d definitely recommend popping over to visit her and have a read through some of her amazing posts.
What’s your name and where are you from?
I am Milly – born in Oxford but now living in Essex.
Talk us through what you’re wearing
This has to be one of my favourite outfits of late. I am wearing a simple green cami from Topshop paired with an embellished mini skirt from Miss Selfridge. The coral wedges were a steal from Primark and my clutch is from H&M. To add one final pop of colour I chose my Topshop necklace to complete the look.
How would you describe your style?
Colourful, floaty and feminine.
High Street Honey or Designer Diva?
For the majority of my wardrobe I am a self-confessed high street honey. However when it comes to accessories and those occasional designer treats, I cannot resist a splurge in Mulberry or Alexander McQueen.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
I do enjoy pouring over style magazines but find that I am most inspired by those around me, day to day, walking down the high street and popping up on my favourite fashion blogs.
What makes your style your own, what’s your signature look?
I think the fact that you will rarely see me in jeans or sombre colours makes my style quite unique. I love clashing prints, bright colours, a cinched waist and full skirts.
What one piece are you coveting at the moment?
Oh gosh my AW wishlist is sky high at the moment but topping the list is definitely the Zara pink Woollen overcoat.
http://www.zara.com/uk/en/woman/coats/short-woollen-overcoat-c269183p1436102.html It is so pretty and is a nice option to retain my feminine style during the dark winter months.
What are the 3 most important pieces in your wardrobe?
My Jimmy Choo heels will always be one of my most treasured items in my wardrobe. My vintage canary yellow pleated skirt is one of those pieces that is incredibly versatile and always makes me smile when I wear it and my McQueen scarf is my favourite accessory to jazz up a simple outfit.
What one piece of fashion advice would you give to readers?
Have fun, don’t be shy of colour and if all else fails, slick on a bright lipstick and a statement necklace to transform any outfit from dreary to dreamy!
