Inappropriate Looks Part 2: It’s The Remix!

A couple of weeks back now I came across a blog post on North On Harper that made me laugh. It was similar to the original Inappropriate looks post I did a while back. But this time it was just a normal girl at an airport sitting down with her thong out. Her sister managed to take the photo of the girl while she was waiting in the airport. Alexis, from NOH, and I got into a little twitter conversation about the whole thing. I had mentioned on New Years Eve I had seen a girl walking to the train station in some grey leopard print leggings that were see through. I could see her underwear from 50ft away, however she was with her boyfriend so it puzzled me that he had a. not seen it and b. not mentioned it her?
I’m keeping this post short today as I’m a little pushed for time but take a look at the photo that Alexis’s sister took and let me know what you think?
We also joked about making a ‘crimes against fashion’ gallery, but I’m not really sure how that would work. If anyone ever found themselves in such a gallery on your blog I can imagine it wouldn’t go down too well. Anyway… the concept is cool, not sure if it would be possible to make it a reality.

The key to pulling off such an album is not showing the faces. Frankly if you are surfing fashion blogs and come across a photo of yourself, maybe you should take that note!
Yeah that is a possibility, just crop the photos to show the actual crime rather than actually showing the person. I just had to share it

Yeah that is another possibility, in fact I’d be surprised if there wasn’t one already.
Last week my blog was discovered by one of those blog-bashing forums, so perhaps I’m feeling a little overly sensitive but as much as I have opinions on inappropriate and appropriate dress, I’d hate to do anything that might hurt other people’s feelings. It can really spiral down into ugliness fast.
Yeah very true, that’s why I think if such a ‘gallery’ was to exist it would have to be of cropped photos simply highlighting the offending garment, then there would be no way of identifying who it was.
I don’t know how a good idea it would be. Even if the intention of posting the picture may not be to bash it, the comments could easily get out of control… It’s tricky. With regards to the girl in the picture, didn’t she feel the cold breeze on her behind? I remember pulling that same stint, sitting on campus at Kent University,on the field in front of the library, full of people, sunny warm day, completely oblivious and a lovely male friend of mine, suddenly run to me, all gentleman-y, covering me up to preserve my modesty hehehehe I still think it was such a sweet reaction

I agree with Jessie, its a tricky one! It can start off funny but could actually end up hurting or really embarrassing somebody – just take a look at the comments readers post on heatworld, some of them are horrid! What you could do is perhaps try and edit the images so we do not see people faces?
I did however find those photos absolutely hilarious and if I was the lady with the thong I would be very red faced!!
Lol, yeah the thing is I’d feel really ‘wrong’ taking the photo in the first place as well.

I keep seeing some shocking outfits now! I saw two girls yesterday who were (it seemed)wearing tights as leggings and teaming them with short tops, yuck! One of them was with her friend, why she didn’t tell her I don’t know! I’m not a big fan of leggings anyway, but this just makes me never want to wear them. Niki
Lol the two words spring to mind when I see someone wearing tights instead of leggings ‘epic’ and ‘fail’. I mean wearing leggings as trousers is bad enough but tights…??
Oh, lord! I saw this on NOH, too. Utterly ridiculous. I think these people realize what they’re doing and either a) don’t care or b) want to attract that kind of attention to themselves. And I kind of love this gallery idea – a little evil, but so very entertaining.
Lol yeah the gallery is evil… I think like I said the only possible way of it working with out potentially hurting anyone would be to crop the image so you can just see the offending item.
