Variety is the spice of Party Wear… or not as the case may be

Monday to Thursday… Suit.
Dress down Friday… Suit trousers, shirt no jacket and no tie. Or if its really relaxed, dare I mention jeans?!
Christmas party… Suit, how very different, eh.

I feel a little sorry for men, even when they work somewhere where there isn’t a uniform, there’s an unwritten uniform. 
I admit, I do work in quite a relaxed environment, and am sometimes convinced if I rolled up in a onesie I might get some strange looks but its not a definite. However, doesn’t it ever get a little dull; same suit, shirt and tie combo?

Coming up to Christmas, what does a guy wear to Christmas parties?

 

Well as you can see from these various screen shots, pretty much you’re wearing a suit. (Disclaimer here – these websites are all brilliant. House of Fraser’s is particularly brilliant and has a lot of options, with a particularly fab section looking at celebrity style but they all come back to the traditional suit.)

What are the alternatives though?

Perhaps the ‘jazzy’ suit

These particularly lovely trousers are part of the Versace @H&M range, and they obviously come with a matching Jacket, Tee and Jumper so you really could go all out… If you wanted of course.

The preppy look?

Ahhhh gossip girl, the epitome of preppyness, and Chucks outfit here really shows what I feel preppy is. Slight school boy elements combined with an individuality. No doubt there will be men rocking this look, but you have to be pretty darn confident to do so..

The suave suit? as demonstrated by this beautiful Jaeger advert.

I think this is beautiful, and extremely attractive, but a little predictable perhaps?

Am I the only person who thinks menswear is a tad monotonous and men are missing out on some brill trends? Let me know what you think..
