Who Else Wants The Definitive Guide To The Autumn Winter 2011 Trends?

A lot of people have been pining for their winter wardrobes on my twitter feed recently. I know British summers usually consists of a week or two of sun then it dips back into the overcast skies usually associated with autumn. If you look in the shops now you’ll start to see the new pieces coming in for the up coming season. If there are any big trends then nows the time to know about them so you can start preparing your winter wardrobe. As I’ve done for the past couple of seasons I’m going to run through some of the major trends so you can use them as a reference before you hit the high street.

Androgyny

Girl meets boy… this season it’s all about raiding your boyfriends wardrobe. Even Chanel were at it, if there was ever a time to flirt with that masculine silhouette, it’s now.

Dolce

101 dalmations

Channel your inner Cruela as black spots on white fur will be all over the high street this season. If you don’t fancy the full look opt for spotty accessory a la Burberry

Topshop Unique

Fetish

Could be seen at Giles, Marc Jacobs, Victor & Rolf among others. It’s time to break out the leather and sky high heels…

Giles

Metallics

Shimmering metallics and glittering sparkles are another key look for this season whether it be a delicate sparkle on your shoes to full on metallic display.

Stella

Optic Prints

Definitely not for the shy, super clashing prints that combine 3 or 4 different patterns were lead by the likes of Jonathan Saunders and Mary Katranzou.

Jonathan Saunders

Super Sequins

Sequins are always huge for the party season and seem to be a winter staple.

Prada

Dots

Sexy and sophisticated were the use of dots at Stella McCartney but they could also be seen everywhere from Marc Jacobs.

That brings the first part to a close check back next week for some to see what else is hot for a/w 2011

OMIGOSH! LOOOOVE all your picks for fall! Fashion like this makes the transition from the summer sun I adore to the chillier weather bearable.

  2. I love the dots and metallics—– plus this year I vow to mix prints… vow, I tell you!

    • Arash Mazinani says:

Yeah! You go girl! There is a mix everything together trend… you’ll see it in my next part of the trend guide.

  3. Marissa says:

The optic prints have to be my favorite. I can never get enough of Jonathan Saudners or Mary Katranzou!

  4. Fashnlvr says:

I love your choices here. The fetish and dots are my real favorites followed closely by androgeny. Looking forward to Fall Fashion!!

  5. I always like a little bit of androgynous elements in a wardrobe + the heels and a hat are so nice.

  6. I loved so much at the catwalk shows I simply couldn’t wait for the colder months…but I have a long time to go while I melt here in Malaga hehehehe. Today got my first autumn-y purchase in the form of birthday present to myself, a pair of very masculine B&W brogues, so the Dolce look you feature here is really calling to me… but so is everything else too ;) the sequins, the colours, the heels …

    • Arash Mazinani says:

Aw yeah I bet you do have to wait a lot longer than the rest of us before you can break out your AW wardrobe.

  7. Kim says:

Ooh I love the super sequins and the dots!

  8. A man after my own heart! I’ve been pouring over my September Vogue taking it all in. The metallics trend reminds me of an old favorite pair of gunmetal silver boots and purse I had years back. And menswear… also so hot on ladies when worn well.
