FBFF: My Top 5 Favourite Spring Summer Trends

I’ve been missing out the friend friday posts I used to do regularly due to lack of time. However, this week as I didn’t really have anything substantial to post on Tuesday I thought this week would be a good time to turn back to FBFF. The topic for this week’s post is quite simple; pick your top five spring summer trends that you will be rocking for this year. If you’ve read any of my trend post’s you’ll quickly realise how hard it is to find the trends for men on the internet. I did manage it, however I thought I’d pick my favourite trends for the ladies, after all they tend to change more dramatically season upon season.

Colour Blocking: I love the colour blocking trend. I love the vibrant colours and the more odd combinations the better I say. One of my favourites is tangerine and pink, it shouldn’t really work together but in my opinion always looks great when combined.

White Out: I love the minimalistic look super clean lines and super crisp whites. The practicality of this trend is not that great but I’m sure it won’t stop anyone giving it a go.

1970s: That disco diva style was a strong theme for the likes of Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton and Etro. The flared cut is making a come back and although jumpsuits have been around for a while I’m glad that they’re staying. I think if worn on the right person they’re super chic.

Cobalt Blue: You’ll recognise the theme that’s building here; colour. I know colour blocking has already been mentioned but cobalt blue was a massive colour for spring summer. Although it’s probably not for everyone I am definitely a fan.

Orientalism: To be honest, this trend may not really be translated onto the high street on mass like some of the others. However I can’t get over how simply stunning the Haider Ackermann exit was from the spring summer 2011 show. Simply for that reason it has to go down as one of my favourite trends for this summer.

For those that are not familiar with it FBFF was started by modlychic to help fashion bloggers connect and share more about themselves. If you’re interested in joining you can find the post that kicked it all off here.

OH I’ve been missing out on reading your blog… I love the first picture– I’m also looking forward to the colour blocking (some of my favourite hues) I agree, Haider Ackermann’s ending was quite a powerful statement. -xo

    • Arash Mazinani says:

Yeah I love that Haider Ackermann exit. Although it’s not something you’d wear on a everyday basis it was still stunning to look at. I’ve seen you’ve started doing FBFF posts as well, I left a comment.

  2. i LOVE the color blocking and white out trends! white has always been my fave color (non-color) to wear! BUT i am on the hunt for something cobalt blue to add to my closet! great pics for spring!

    • Arash Mazinani says:

Yeah the cobalt blue is a gorgeous colour. Tangerine was also big but I didn’t include that in my top 5

Everyone and their mothers are doing the color-blocking trend. I love it when it is pulled off correctly, but I have seen some maaaay-jah trainwrecks, too. However, the trainwrecks are always more fun to watch.
The white out trend is probably my favorite look, but I don’t know if I would have the guts to pull this off. I tend to accidentally lean against dirty things, so I would probably have huge dirt marks across my back and not even know about it.
I give a big HELL YES to cobalt blue. It is definitely one of the top colors of the season. I lovelovelovelove cobalt blue, so I am super stoked about this!

Yeah you’re right about the white out it looks great on the catwalk but if you can maintain that crisp clean white look through out the day is another matter.

  4. chouchou says:

colors, colors, colors…i love that trend, even though i like to wear dark colors. i guess the colder the temperatures, the darker the colors. but now, the weather is so lovely, and wearing colors is a MUST! but i guess i can never combine orange and pink – that’s too much for me ;) ..i turned 30..!..

  5. heather says:

YES color and white! Great picks! I def have my cobalt blue ready! I’m also already prepared to be all dressed in white with my white out nails. Now if only the weather would stable itself.

    • Arash Mazinani says:

yeah the weather is really good at the moment I’m tempted to break out the spring clothes myself… but then I don’t know how warm it actually is.

  6. Joy says:

Tangerine & pink – one of my favourite colour combinations!

It will be interesting to see how popular the white out trend will be. This look is intimidating — not for the faint of heart. (Gorgeous when done right though!)

  7. Courtney says:

Similar to makeup trends, too! ALL color or NO color.

  8. Linz says:

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am absolutely LOVING all the bright colors I’m seeing this season and can’t wait to add some of these clolorful pieces to my wardrobe!! I love the orientalism as well, but like you said, I’m not sure it’ll be accessible in stores I frequent.

    • Arash Mazinani says:

yeah that’s the thing I just loved the image of that picture the outfit was beautiful but it’s not the sort of thing that I’d see filtering it’s way down to high street fashion, colour blocking on the other hand…. that’s a different story.

  9. Fashnlvr says:

You know I LOVE the color trends!! I can really dig some black with studs and spikes but the color has it for me this season. White out I also love but I also would be leaning against things and have marks across my rear for sure!! (Insert point & laugh here!) Cobalt – my favorite shade of blue! I really like the last photo but I can’t see me wearing anything similar.
    Great choices Arash!

  10. Lee Oliveira says:

I loved Gucci and Marc Jacobs SS10 collection. It was a lot of colours but perfectly put together.
Ps. I am so sorry if I haven’t been able to read your blog lately.. I was on holiday.. but I am back now!
