Featuring…. Time & Blogging

This is a bit of a mishmash of a post as I didn’t have anything prepared for this Tuesday. Usually I think in advance a couple/few days before about what I want to post about. Occasionally I have ideas that pop into my head about what I want to blog about that I make a note of on my phone. But that’s a rarity, purely as I’m not in the ‘blogging’ mindset when I’m out and about during my daily activities. I’m sure if I was there would be loads of potential topics I could write about. So I thought instead of fumble something out that is style related, I would take the time to discuss the topic of time and blogging and also just share some links to other cool blogs where I have had the pleasure of featuring.

When it comes to blogging it is one hobby amongst many for me. In the past I used to blog about 4 times a week but recently I have cut back to about 2. Purely because I know with at least 2 I can produce something substantial and that is of good quality, at least in my opinion. I have to divide my time between work, blogging, socialising, spending time with my girlfriend,  working on my image consulting and my latest venture; working out. I’ve just started a pretty intense work out plan which has meant for about an hour each day I’m working out. Im following my progress and may end up doing a post about it in the men’s section, especially following how well my body image post went down.

So I guess I pose the question to the other bloggers reading; how do you manage your time and fit blogging in?

As I’m sure you’re aware I’m pretty rigid in terms of my posting… Tuesdays for the ladies and Saturdays for the guys.

I mentioned at the beginning of the post that I wanted to give you links to other sites that I had featured on recently. All three are awesome sites and definitely deserve some love. So if you’ve not checked out any of these guys yet then I encourage you to do so.

I really make time to blog. It takes up a lot of time & effort and some discipline, but I’ve never been this driven about anything in my life before. I guess I really want to invest this much time in it because I want to use it as a tool to help my career, therefore I want it to be good :)

  2. May I say what an absolute pleasure it was to feature you? Blogging takes a lot of time for me, in terms of research, especially since I hurt my back and had to stop working. I was more inspired when I was out and about, workig in the fashion business, now I have to research topics I want to talk about, or just hunt for ideas.

Normally I aim for a couple of posts a week, maybe 3? Like you I don’t like to write just anything, so it has to be more or less worth publishing. Lately I’ve been moving countries so the frequency and dare I say the quality has taken a bit of a dip (did I tell you I’m my worst critic?). Hopefully once I move into my new place, set up my workplace and have the time and space again I can relaunch my blog life.

Thanks for linking me up :)

Yeah that’s the thing when ‘life’ takes over it can sometimes mean your blogging frequency decreases.

Time – one thing none of us can purchase more, exchange for better or take back. As my job is now coming to a halt (T-minus 80 days and counting) my blog and possibly changing careers has taken over my mind. I spend a lot of time thinking about posts, commenting on other blogs (like yours) and trying to build up the fashion side of my life. My husband and I watch many movies so often I am watching a movie, writing a post and editing photos all at once! In the office my worklife has moved to “Keep the Business Running” so as long as nothing is broken – I have nothing to fix – this gives me oodles of time to Tweet, comment and surf! I have seriously started considering an editorial calendar for my blog just to keep me sane and more focused.
To transition to a fashion worklife is my dream – hoping I can make it come true!!

Good luck I’m sure you will make it come true. I’m terrible at multi tasking so I have to focus on one thing at a time.
