When Should a Man Stop Wearing Hoodies?

It’s time for another reader question so I’m putting this latest one out there. Ever since I was a teen I loved hoodies I used to wear them all the time and had a hoodie for pretty much any occasion. As I’ve got older my collection has slowly decreased and I only tend to wear them now when I’m lounging at home. But it got me thinking this week that hoodies seem to be a wardrobe staple for many people in that it’s pretty much what they always wear. While some hoodies can look terrible, with some clever layering they can be used for some creative outfits. Although this didn’t stop me thinking about the main question that I put to you guys
When should a man stop wearing hoodies?
Is there a certain age you think men should stop wearing them completely? Maybe you believe they’re vile and no one should wear them or you you may think that there is still a place in a man’s wardrobe for the piece now synonymous with rebellious youths and emos?
Whatever your thoughts I’d love to hear them.

I really like hoodies on a man
but I guess there’s a certain age when maybe they’re not appropriate anymore… I’d say 30? For chilling at home anything is possible!

I hate hoodies! to be honest I used to like them but teenagers and chav’s have really spoilt the look for me! To the point where if i’m working in the Jewellers I refuse to let them in because people that tend to wear them have a tendancy to steal stuff lol…. In my eyes the only excuse to wear one is if it’s been a rough night and you’re trying to hide the next day going down the shop to get your just woke up and need some essentials look….. Or if it’s really cold and you’re walking the dog lol

I think it definitely depends on the style of the hoodie. I actually just bought the bf a few hoodies for Christmas (let’s hope he doesn’t read this!), but they’re what I think are stylish hoodies, thanks to the fit, fabric and colors. With a pair of nice jeans and good shoes, I think it can be a casual chic look. However, the over-sized hoodie, or those with lots of youthful large logos should be reserved for fighting the cold in your own home after your teen/college years.
I honestly have no problems with men wearing hoodies. they are great for lounging around in or for layering up. I esp. love wearing my bf’s hoodies bc they are bigger and easier to snuggle up in lol.
