The fashion week’s in the four cities has finally finished and like our trend guide for autumn winter 2010 we’ll be doing a full guide early next year. However if you’re wanting to stay one step ahead of the game or just fancy a shopping spree and want to be up on the latest trends this mini trend report is definitely what you need. Rather than our usual hot pick of the week I thought I’d hit you with a few bits about what to expect for next season so you can be in the know first.
The main colours that were seen coming down the catwalk were tangerine as seen at Stella McCartney, coral, fuchsia, white and neons and for the in pattern for next season stripes were all the rage at Prada as well as animal prints that could be found at Louis Vuitton. So you can be sure next spring summer will be a colourful affair.
As for the decade for inspiration, it was definitely the 1970s! The chosen the skirt length for next season is all about the mid calf or if you’re comfortable with it you can take a leaf out of Alber Elbaz’s book and go for an ankle length skirt in pleated chiffon, which were gorgeous at Lanvin. When it comes to trousers it’s best to keep it long and lean.
As I said we’re keeping this article rather brief it’s just a little heads up for what’s going to be about for next season, if you want to know what my favourite spring summer 2011 fashion week shows were you can check my last article out.

It’s strange to see the coral and fuchsia colours, I’m so used to hearing about ‘camel’ and ‘nude’.
An injection of colour will do us all good.
