We featured a stunning Stella McCartney LBD in our last post as the ‘Hot Pick of the Week’. Before posting that I had started to think about LBD’s and how much they are a fashion staple. Whenever I go out I see so many women in them and I know from my experience with women that whenever they don’t have anything they feel right in to wear on an evening they usually go back to that LBD. It’s like a fail safe, if you’re pushed for time when getting ready to go out or you just can’t decide on what to wear then the LBD is there in your wardrobe to save the day.
It’s the one dress that will never go out of style, the beauty of the LBD is that they come in lots of different varieties to satisfy whatever your mood and all will usually leave you looking slim and chic.
The LBD really can be considered a blank canvas a piece that you can transform depending on your mood or the occasion, you can make your look a little bit more edgy with a pair of cool killer heels or subtly refined with some elegant jewellery, the choice is endless.
You can always find LBD’s in various cuts depending on what you want to communicate with your look, for something playful and cute you can go for a breezy dress with bow details, lace or ruffles. Alternatively if you’re wanting to keep it simple a really chic classic shift or similar simple cut will give timeless appeal. If you’re feeling a little bit sexy and want a number to match then opt for a dress in a body hugging fabric that dips at the cleavage or a thigh high hemline, pick your favourite asset and choose a dress that features it. If you want to go all out then choose a super glamourous floor length gown and for the ultimate day to night dress choose an LBD with short sleeves allowing for layering.
Again with accessories what you choose will depend on what you want to say with your look and also your age, for the timeless chic look, staying in tradition to the LBD then choose classic elegant pieces of jewellery. If you want to update the look and keep it on trend and current then go for a funky pair of heels and clutch, there are always ways you can work an LBD.
Below I’ve found a few different styles of whats on offer our there.

I literally cannot have enough LBDs. It’s the only piece that is simple, classic and yet so versatile. I love an eye-popping accessory or bold lip with heels. Completely chic and easy. You don’t even have to think twice about it. Great post!
