Style Icons: Emma Watson

Emma Watson was in the news recently when she revealed her new elfin crop hair cut. I must admit I’m an admirer of girls with short hair and think she looks fantastic with the new look, but it got me thinking that she’s come a very long way since she first appeared in the Harry Potter films. Since her Harry Potter beginnings she has blossomed into some what of a style icon.
As she’s grown as a teenager so has her style as well as her profile, attending red carpet events and being papped during the day. This has lead to her being featured in a variety of fashion publications including teen vogue as well as sparking friendships with fashion heavyweights such Christopher Bailey and Karl Lagerfeld.
In 2009 Emma Watson became the face of Burberry and looked amazing in the ad campaigns, filling the big boots left by the likes of Kate Moss and Agyness Deyn.

The key to Emma’s style is classic and sophisticated pieces, the beauty of it is, her looks could easily work no matter what your age. She doesn’t dress like your typical teenager, opting for classic pieces like a blazer and teaming with little statement pieces like necklaces will help give your outfit a lift while keeping a polished sophisticated look. You’re likely to see Emma in skinny jeans, blazers and ballet pumps during the day. At night and on the red carpet you’ll find her in elegant dresses embellished with the likes of gemstones and feathers, killer heels and a clutch, again perfect for any evening.
Here are some pictures I’ve found showing off Emma’s Style.
