Welcome back to the second part of our autumn/winter 2010 trend guide. If you missed part one you can find it here. In the first part of the trend guide we focused on the big runway looks, in this article we’re going to follow it up by seeing what’s key in accessories and also some of the micro trends that were featured on the autumn/winter 2010 runways.
The Longer Skirt
The key length when it came to skirts this season was the longer the better. This may have been down to this season’s obsession with ‘grown up’ dressing, but it’s a reverse of the ever shortening hemline.

Stockings
Stockings are key this winter, you may want to blame Alexander Wang he featured them in last season’s sportswear-inspired collection. In fact it’s all about socks regardless of length so opt for pop, knee, leg warmers or over the knee and team with shoes!

How to hold your bag
You may have the latest ‘it’ bag but are you holding it the right way? Forget what type of bag it is, whether it’s a clutch, short handle bag or a satchel, tuck it in, scrunch it up or grab it, but whatever you do don’t wear it over the shoulder.

Textured Bags
From fur to sheepskin when it came to accessories this season designers played with textures for all kinds.

Big Jewellery
Big necklaces could still be found on the catwalk with the likes of Lanvin, Yves Saint Laurent and Alexander McQueen all featuring.

Red Lips
The strong statement lips make a return

Nail Art
Graphic or colour, decorated nails make a come back this season

Retro Hair
Retro hair featured heavily as designers were inspired from a range of past decades, from Louis Vuitton’s 1930’s fused collection to Chloe’s 1970’s inspired looks.
