7 Low Cost Tips to Transform your Style

Style doesn’t have to cost a fortune there are plenty of things you can do that don’t cost a penny or are relatively cheap that can easily help you become more stylish. In this article I’m going to run through the most effective 7 tips that you can use straight away for a more stylish look.

Add a dimple to your tie, you should already know at least 2 knots you can use when tying your tie, if you don’t then you can read the article here. Many men neglect adding a dimple but this small detail gives you that extra bit of class and makes you look professional. If you’re unsure how to do it, check out the link below.

Clothes that fit, again this is a simple low cost solution but you’d be surprised how many men walk around in clothes that are too baggy for them. Baggy clothes will make you look sloppy and ruin your silhouette. Make sure they fit you well and if you’re having trouble getting clothes that fit you well from the high street then find your nearest tailor.

Look after your shoes, your shoes should always be clean and polished. Clean shoes are a must for any stylish man but they’ll also last longer if you clean them on a regular basis. You can also invest in some shoetrees which will help keep their shape and avoid any excessive creasing.

Look after your clothes, it seems like common sense, but make sure you always iron them before wearing, creased clothing just looks scruffy. Always try and hang up your clothes rather than just throwing them on the floor when you get changed and try and keep up to date with any maintenance you may need to do eg: replacing any missing buttons. Not only will this help you create a sharp, clean look but again you’re clothes will last longer meaning you’ll spend less on replacements.

Select the correct belt colour, if you’re wearing dress shoes your belt should match the colour of your shoes. The style and finish also need to match, so shiny shoes will require a a shiny belt and for more casual attire opt for a thicker belt.

Fastening the right amount of buttons on your jacket, if your suit jacket has two buttons you should only fasten the top button. If it has three you can fasten the top two or just the middle or top by itself. The bottom button should always be left undone, it’s a tradition that has been used for years and years, it’ll make sure you look smart.

Invest in a money clip, you don’t want to have a clean, sharp suit and then spoil it by having a bulge in your pocket due to your wallet, it will spoil the line of your trousers. Money clips are also great if you’re going out you only really need to take a few cards and any cash that you have, your Tesco club card can stay at home.
